Keith Walpole is a writer and musician based in Brooklyn, NY. Alongside his Substack ‘Circles in Space’, he publishes a weekly newsletter, ‘Five Bullets’, which covers everything from art to music to history and science.
Arist Andrea Mastrovito created this huge installation out of cutouts from repurposed text books. The giant piece was inspired by H.G. Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau, and is aptly titled after the novel.
Another design book about Brooklyn you say? This one is cool because it show cases different interiors, from modern to luxury to vintage and grungy. The burrough has been swiftly changing over the last couple of years, and will continue to do so, so this book will bring you up to speed.
Photojournalist Chris Hondros was killed by a grenade while covering the Libyan conflict in 2011. A book of his works will be published in April 2014.
There’s something so very heroic about a person who not only dies for their job, but dies for their passion. Rest easy my good man.
