Keith Walpole is a writer and musician based in Brooklyn, NY. Alongside his Substack ‘Circles in Space’, he publishes a weekly newsletter, ‘Five Bullets’, which covers everything from art to music to history and science.
“It is not as much photography as it is about sculpture and installation. The long oneman work on an largescale installation is a process triggering the artistic genom. This process involves the object, story, space and most important the time it is made within. It is an approach to the balance between nature and human culture, and all the sublevels of our own excistence. The work is made solely on site, and the photographs represents the reality of the installation itself.”

Photojournalist Chris Hondros was killed by a grenade while covering the Libyan conflict in 2011. A book of his works will be published in April 2014.
There’s something so very heroic about a person who not only dies for their job, but dies for their passion. Rest easy my good man.

Literary Graffiti is Wonderful
Literary graffiti, enough said. Street artists like Banksy and Kobra are driven by political statements and much like them, these graffiti pieces are powerful and eye opening. Not to mention, great quotes that simply summarize their respective novels.
Sidenote: I wish I had seen this in high school-I would’ve consulted these instead of Spark Notes! At least now I can appreciate these pieces, after reading and understanding the brilliance of Orwell and Vonnegut.
My particular favorites are “Alice in Wonderland”, “1984”, and “The Crying Lot of 49”. These are great examples of statements without words and I love anything visual like these.
